Now a luxury four-star hotel and spa on Nottinghamshire’s border, Ye Olde Bell Hotel & Spa was formerly a popular, midway resting place for tired highwaymen and stagecoach travellers as they journeyed on the Great North Road between Edinburgh and London. Even a young Queen Victoria, en route to a music festival in York in 1835, stayed here with her mother, the Duchess of Kent, in what is now named the Victoria Suite. This historic highwayman’s home-from-home remains ideally located, near to Sherwood Forest, the spiritual home of legendary hero Robin Hood, as well as the city of Nottingham and Wollaton Hall.
With a flair for design, Ye Olde Bell’s current owners Paul and Hilary Levack have passionately restored the 59 rooms, suites and lodges. They combine stunning original features with elegant contemporary design to make a unique and unforgettable Midlands destination.

It is the first in the UK to offer the HaloIR™ breathe and detox spa treatment, and also one of only three spas in the country with a Stonebath steam room. It is one of only two UK spas to offer a Snowstorm spa too; just some examples of the 10 thermal experiences on offer.
The prize also includes lunch at the spa’s own restaurant, Herb Garden Brasserie, where you can choose to indulge or rebalance.
