The Skylon’s the limit
“Let’s do it, let’s fall in love”, goes one of Cole Porter’s best-known ditties in High Society. Well, to get you in the mood and stimulate that amorous feeling, Skylon at the Royal Festival Hall, Southbank, has designed some special cocktails, available only for the duration of the feel-good musical’s run at The Old Vic, until 22 August.
Head mixologist, Fred Tartas, has created three signature cocktails to reflect 1920s style, and which each celebrates the original movie’s protagonists; Frank Sinatra (chivas, cocchi vermouth and barrelled bitters in a coupette), Grace Kelly (Beefeater 24, lemon juice, gomme syrup, Taittinger with edible flower) and Bing Crosby (chivas, cocchi vermouth, cherry marnier, orange juice, with dried slice of orange). We’ll certainly be ridin’ high after that lot.
