Church Brow Cottage

    Church Brow

Designed as a summer retreat in the early 19th century, this late Georgian garden pavilion is situated on the banks of the River Lune, the waterway that flows through the city of Lancaster several miles further on.

With lovely views across the valley, poet John Ruskin once described the sight as, “one of the loveliest scenes in England, therefore the world”, in 1875. Today, Church Brow Cottage provides an idyllic holiday destination, complete with beautiful garden, formal upper terrace and more natural lower terraces leading down to the river. It is also the ideal place from which to explore the Lake District and Yorkshire Dales.
