Hole Cottage
If you fancy a taste of life in the ancient Weald, a stay at Hole Cottage could be for you. The late medieval cottage is the remaining cross-wing of a timber-framed hall-house and lies by a small stream in a woodland clearing. Although the cottage gives a sense of the deep woods where the forges and furnaces of the Sussex ironmasters were established, it’s only a 15-minute walk through the wood from Cowden station.
