The Milestone Hotel, London
Having been named ‘Best Small Hotel of the Year 2012’ overlooking Kensington Gardens, this prime accommodation takes its name from the old cast iron milestone that stands just outside, a relic of the history books.
Prior to its hotel status the site was most interestingly occupied by political figures, students and nobility, and was notably used as an asylum. The present building was transformed into accommodation in 1922 and has since been much restored to its opulent heyday.
